AMOC Jewellery was founded in 2003 by Anne Mette O' Connor (the trading name coming from Mette's full name) and subsequently opened its new boutique in 2007 with an attached open-plan workshop and design studio on Greystones' main street, Church Road, in county Wicklow.
"My first experience making jewellery was in Denmark at the age of 14 where I did work experience with a beading craft worker. The love for creativity stayed with me and took me to an apprenticeship as a jeweler in Australia, where I also discovered the amazing world of gemstones. Love took me to Ireland, where I was fortunate enough to do the jewellery skills course in Kilkenny with the Crafts Council of Ireland - a brilliant course that taught me the traditional skills of an artisan goldsmith", as Mette put it herself in an interview earlier this year for RTE Fashion "Best of Irish".
AMOC Jewellery is now recognised for its Scandinavian-inspired designs: simple but effective, flowing and timeless. All pieces are crafted on site, commissioned to suit all tastes, occasions and budgets. We use sterling Silver, gold and platinum combined with various precious and semi-precious gemstones, all of which are purchased through reputable and responsible sources. All employees of AMOC Jewellery take great pride in their work and make each piece with passion, which is, to us, the essence of the trade. Conscious of that very special relationship between the jewellery and the wearer, we also take the time to discuss at lenghts all aspects of our creative process with our customers.
Mette is also a qualified gemmologist and diamond grader and is available for design consultations on appointment request.
